Wow, 2017 is right around the corner. Where did the year go? 2016 is just about over and we have all survived another year. The year had many ups and downs just like ever year. I like to think even through the tough times that we have all learned and is moving forward.
It was a great year of writing and photographing my adventures. Although I wasn’t able to write one article a week like I had plan to, I still managed an average of an article every other week. Once my charter season got busy, it was tough to keep up with my writing. However, I did have a goal of at least 5,000 view and fell short of only a few hundred. I might reach that goal by the end of the year but we will see. I hope that I was able to help some beginners with my post and help them have success here in Michigan.
With that being said, I will be trying to reach the 10,000 page view goal this year. I hope to write more about my adventures in the woods and water. I hope you will all follow along.
Here are the top articles for 2016. I picked these because they had the most views and searches.
5. Lessons Learned from 2015 – Deer Hunting
Starting off the top 5 was my lessons learned in the whitetail woods from 2015. I go over everything from my highs to my lows of the 2015 deer season. Funny that this came up with the end of the 2016 deer season right around the corner.
4. 2nd Tip To Catch More Fish (Blog 3 of 4)
Every year when I go fishing I watch other fisherman and sometimes I question what they are thinking. I will see them fishing a style of fishing that does not make any sense at all. For example, throwing a giant trolling spoon in the river. However, it’s not there fault because they just don’t know. It’s one of the reasons I started this blog. I used to be one of those guys. I wrote a 4 piece article about “Tips to catch more fish.” My 3rd article out of the series was number 4 on my blog.
3. How to Travel Up North for Less than $100
I wrote this piece because I just got home from a party and met a person who had never been up north. They enjoyed the outdoors in SE Michigan and they also had a good job. They thought going up north would be really expensive for them and that is the reason they never left the South east part of the state. So I wrote this article hoping it would encourage more people to head up north no matter what their passions are and enjoy a weekend.
2. The Story of My 10-Point
Every year I enjoy writing about my experiences in the woods. I especially enjoy writing about my special hunts in the woods to go back and read about deer I have killed. Reading the articles take me back to that special day when I had that experience. I can imagine like it happened all over again. This year was no different when I shot my 10-point.
1. Three Tips to Help You Catch More Fish (Part 1 of ?)
This article was the beginning of a 4-piece series helping other people get into more fish like I explained above. It received the most views and was the most searched for post.
Thanks again to my followers and viewers who help make this site what it is. I look forward to 2017 and wish everyone a great New Year.
